Police Officer: The City of McCall seeks an individual to fill the recently vacated, Full-Time Regular position of Police Officer.  The primary function of an employee in this class is to enforce state and local laws and ordinances, respond to calls for the protection of life and property, conduct criminal and non-criminal investigations; make arrests and to perform other assigned law enforcement and public safety duties.  Work is performed under the general direction of a Police Sergeant, but considerable latitude is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.   The primary duties of this class are performed in both a general office environment and an outdoor environment that may include exposure to adverse weather conditions and to potential personal danger.

Acceptable Experience and Training:

•    High school diploma or GED equivalency; and
•    Some experience in law enforcement or a related field is preferred; or
•    Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. 

Special Qualifications:

•    Idaho drivers license;
•    Idaho POST Basic certification within one (1) year of employment;
•    No disqualifying criminal or motor vehicle record;
•    Live within 15 miles of the McCall Police Department.

Salary and Benefits: Starting salary is $20.33 – $21.52 per hour. Salary will be determined at time of a conditional offer and will be based on applicant’s education, qualifications, and prior and/or related experience.  The City provides an excellent benefits package, including the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI); vacation and sick leave; health, dental, vision, and life insurance; a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA); a voluntary Flexible Spending Account (FSA); and an Employee Assistance Program.

Parks and Recreation Seasonal Worker

The City of McCall is seeking qualified individuals to fill full-time, Seasonal positions in our Parks and Recreation Department. Seasonal workers perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, inspection, and service work in City parks and public areas, including equipment, machinery, irrigation systems, and structures. Additional duties include soil and plant cultivation, pesticide and fertilization applications and general cleanup duties. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, be at least 17 years old, and be able to work weekends and Holidays.  The City of McCall is an EOE/DFW. Wage begins at $11.25 per hour, higher wage possible depending on experience. Code Enforcement Officer

 

The City of McCall seeks a qualified individual to fill the recently vacated, part-time, 20 hour per week, position of Code Enforcement Officer. The selected individual will read, interpret, and enforce city zoning, nuisance and sign ordinances and the City Code in general.  Must be able to work with the public, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and exercise sound judgment.  High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license required; full background investigation will be conducted, must be at least 21 years old to apply.  Starting salary range is $16.59 to $17.57 per hour, salary DOE.  Applications available at City Hall or www.mccall.id.us.  EOE, DFW.  Position open until filled.
